If you want to learn how to do portraiture or improve your ability to draw in a more realistic manner, then you NEED this book. It is THE best and easiest book I've ever read on drawing. In fact, 2 decades ago, an earlier version of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain was THE textbook my college used for drawing 1 and 2 classes. Being a young, broke college kid, I sold my copy back after the end of the classes and I've regretted it ever since. Even though I studied art as a major a long time ago, I didn't keep up with it and my skills have declined markedly over the years. This book and workbook have once again put me on the path to being able to draw with skill, style and without making all the technical errors most hobbyists struggle with (proportion issues, perceptive issues, difficulties with foreshortening, etc.) If you want to learn how to draw what you see, then make this the jewel of your art resources.
